Senior Project Engineer Coms
Location: Birmingham or London
Base salary: £47,450pa to c.£67,300pa depending on skills and experience. In addition, we offer a flexible benefits fund of 20% which is paid on top base salary and is fully pensionable, as well as a range of competitive benefits.

As Senior Project Engineer – Comms, you’ll provide professional and technical support on project engineering duties within a Railway Systems Project delivery team, supporting integrated assurance of railway system design, construction, and handover into operations.
About the role:
* Coordinate technical assurance, checking and coordinating the submission of assurance evidence for technical stage gates.
* Ensure design, construction, and commissioning of assets comply with technical and sponsor requirements and applicable standards.
* Support the Lead Project Engineer – Comms in discharging their duties of NEC3 Supervisor.
* Assist the Lead Project Engineer – Comms in fulfilling their duties as Principal Designer Representative as mandated within the Construction Design Management (CDM) Regulations 2015.
* Provide guidance on design solutions, promoting best practices and innovative engineering techniques.
* Engage with technical specialists to support cost-balanced mitigation strategies and solutions.
* Provide technical coordination and integration of EMS railway systems contracts with other interfacing contracts.
* Manage and communicate engineering issues or changes affecting railway systems.
* Identify, communicate, and manage technical risks and assumptions.
* Manage interface management tools for effective system integration.
* Promote and embed Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) in all your work.
About You:

Knowledge:
* Applicable UK design and construction regulations, including CDM requirements.
* Understanding of risk identification and management.
* Knowledge of Railway Systems design and construction challenges.
* Commercial awareness regarding cost delivery and schedule targets.
* Chartered Engineer/Membership of a professional institution or equivalent experience.
Type of experience:
* Managing multi-disciplinary engineering and safety standards on major projects.
* Managing competing project and engineering demands with cost and schedule implications.
* Supporting CDM duties associated with Principal Designer and/or Designer.
* Relevant experience in Telecommunications design, installation, and Testing & Commissioning.
