We are seeking to appoint a talented, passionate and enthusiastic Games coach and PE teacher. The successful candidate should primarily have a love of sport and an understanding of coaching and refereeing children between Years 3 to Year 6 in the major games of football, rugby, netball, hockey and mixed gender cricket plus some experience of teaching, or willingness to undertake CPD in order to teach, PE to EYFS and KS1 children.
Reporting to: Head, Deputy Head, and Director of Sport
Hours, Salary & Benefits:
Hours: Part time, term time only. 9am - 5pm. Wednesdays and Thursdays.
This role commences in January 2025 (or as soon as possible after this date)
Salary: £7961.60 pa. Salary will be subject to an increase April 2025.

Games Coach
* To Support the Director of Sport in delivering the games program at The Mead.
* To coach and assist in inspiring coaching in all games, including some mixed teams.
* To have high expectations of all pupils.
* To promote the development of the abilities and aptitudes of the pupils in any class or group assigned.
* To help organise, officiate and manage home and away fixtures with other schools in a variety of sports.
* To help maintain and account for sports equipment and prepare equipment for match days.
* To maintain high standards of professionalism at all times.
* To follow and support all school policies and procedures including adhering closely to risk assessments.
* To maintain the high standards of behaviour and sportsmanship at home and away.
PE Teacher
* To plan, deliver and reflect upon PE lessons for EYFS and KS1 pupils of excellent quality, demonstrating differentiation and inclusion in collaboration with the Director of Sport.
* To monitor and track children’s progress and develop a scheme and lesson plans accordingly.
* To have high expectations for the achievement of every child.
* To utilize a variety of teaching methods and strategies to enthuse pupils and take their learning forwards.
* To liaise with the Head of Learning Strategies and Teaching Assistants regarding any children with specific needs. As required, liaise with parents and other agencies involved.
* To write reports for the children in the classes taught PE and attend one specialist parents’ evening per year.
* To audit and maintain the equipment used for PE lessons.
* To employ effective behavior management strategies in line with the whole school policy.
* To ensure knowledge is always up-to-date and engage in CPD when appropriate.
General
* To take responsibility for safeguarding and any issues/concerns that arise within lessons.
* To be aware and comply with Health and Safety policies, legislation and best practice.
* To undertake such other reasonable duties as required by the Head or Director of Sport.
* To attend Sports Day and Prizegiving events (even if not on allocated days).
* To ensure knowledge is always up-to-date and engage in CPD when appropriate.
