Our client in Bury St Edmunds who is a leading end to end manufacturer, producing high precision sensors for the world's construction and infrastructure projects, is looking for a CNC Machinist to join the in-house Machine Shop team. What you’ll be doing
As a CNC Machinist you will play a pivotal role within the production process by supplying parts and support to the assembly team. You will be setting and operating CNC lathes and on occasion, mills within an in-house machine shop. You will support the Head Machinist in the day-to-day machining activities.
Your Main Responsibilities:
Programming and setting CNC lathes and mills (including live tooling)
Operating CNC lathe and mill from existing programmes.
Monitoring tool wear during cycles
Spot checking parts during machine cycles
Loading of material into machine/bar feed
Cutting and handling of raw materials
Cleaning of machine parts
Deburring of machine parts
Maintenance of machine fluids
Basic maintenance of machine tools
Machine shop housekeeping
The in house machine shop is equipped with modern CNC lathes and mills with modern tooling, as well as using water based coolants. Being an integral part of the production process, we can refine our processes, tooling and engage with the wider engineering team on design collaboration.
About you
We are looking for someone with a desire to learn. We are seeking someone with machining experience in both turning and milling ideally with experience of live tooling, sub spindle and CNC milling (Haas/Fanuc).

Pay: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
