A leading food manufacturer is looking for a Warehouse Operative to work on the premises of its modern, automated, and clean site in the centre of Gloucester.
RECRUITING NOW FOR JANUARY 2025 following an induction in December.
PAY: starting at £13.66 flat rate + overtime if applicable
HOURS: Mix of 12 hrs days and nights shifts on a pattern.
JOB PURPOSE:
The Warehouse Operator is involved in the inload and outload of material and product from the factory. This includes the movement and accounting of material into and out of the warehouse, and from the end of line to the point of factory outload.
The RMS Warehouse Operator requires a basic knowledge of SAP systems for their area of use, as well as current licenses for Fork Lift Truck type(s) and related handling equipment. They must be able to conduct manual handling of loads safely and are required to support warehouse and area cleaning. They will support the continuous improvement of factory logistic operations.
RMS Operators will be trained in the mandated health and safety procedures for the factory and are required to monitor and implement necessary quality standards for material handling and storage. They must have a mind-set that supports our focus on Quality and protection of the environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Use appropriate material handling equipment to move product and materials from and to designated locations to support bulk activities in an efficient and safe manner.
2. Build pallets and orders as directed to support successful order fulfilment.
3. Safe handling and storage of materials.
4. Stock process - handles delivery and sorting.
5. Work accurately to control warehouse inventory at acceptable levels.
6. Analyse material movements to locate parts, serial number, and quantity change.
7. Generate movement documentation.
8. Perform inventory count, stock material in the appropriate locations.
9. Efficiently load/unload trucks and transports with a forklift.
10. Assist the daily housekeeping and maintenance of the warehouse and logistics area.
11. Adhere to all policies and procedures relating to product age and quality.
12. Conduct inspection of logistic equipment including FLTs, pallet inverters, racking, etc.
Other Requirements:
* Must be flexible to work other units / carry out other tasks where trained to do so.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
Professional Qualifications:
* National school leaver qualifications in Reading and Comprehension, Writing and Mathematics.
ESSENTIAL:
* Previous experience in the use of manual handling equipment including forklift trucks.
* Can maintain focus and discipline for the task whilst demonstrating good problem solving skills to protect targets.
* IT Skills - Competent in the use of computer systems with a basic to intermediate ability in Microsoft Office; Outlook, Excel and Word programmes.
PREFERRED / DESIRABLE:
* Previous experience in warehousing.
* Previous experience with ERP systems particularly SAP/SAP WM.
* Experience of manufacturing in a Fast Moving Consumer Goods Company.
