EMEA Tax Reporting and Compliance Director Job ID 200839 Posted 21-Jan-2025 Service line Corporate Segment Role type Full-time Areas of Interest Accounting/Finance Location(s) London - England - United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland EMEA Tax Reporting and Compliance Director London/Hybrid Reports To: Non US Tax Reporting and Compliance Senior Director You will have responsibility for co-ordinating all aspects of the interim and annual U.S. GAAP income tax provision for CBRE's legal entities in EMEA. This individual will be a senior member of the EMEA's Tax Reporting and Operations team and be responsible for managing and executing the tax reporting and compliance operations process for CBRE's legal entities in EMEA, working very closely with the Global Outsource provider for US GAAP tax reporting and local tax return compliance and the associated alignments in US GAAP. Specific responsibilities will include: - Responsible for reviewing the Company's quarterly (FIN18) and annual consolidated income tax provision. This includes both the recurring & non-recurring calculations - Responsible for co-ordination & review of quarterly and annual US GAAP income tax provisions for all CBRE EMEA entities for effective tax rate and final consolidation into the financial statements. - Perform risk-based reviews of the process output of each EMEA entity, either by specific review or through Analytical Procedures to ensure that tax accounting controls are working as designed. - Supporting the Tax Compliance process, with a focus on the UK and UK group filings, inputs for tax returns such as Hybrid/CFC disclosures, CIR calculations etc. - Manage US GAAP tax accounting requirements for the Company's EMEA entities. This includes monitoring the completion of required income tax accounting & tax compliance processes; and proposing & participating in implementing corrective actions to exception items noted. - Manage the outsource provider when it comes to, mainly, EMEA Tax Compliance - Manage the operational aspect of Transfer Pricing invoicing for the Company's entities. This includes working closely with the CBRE TP team and performing the TP calculations on a quarterly basis with a view to automating these. - Support the TP team in data collection and interpretation efforts. This includes liaising with local controllership teams in our key jurisdictions. - Support the analysis of tax reporting consequences in the region, in the areas of Mergers, Acquisitions & Divestitures Globally; Internal Restructurings; Subsidiary Capitalization and Funding for the region; Cash Repatriation for the region; and Special Projects. - Liaise with other members of Tax, Accounting, Business Units & external advisors to develop and implement process improvement opportunities. - Participate-in and execute as needed the required SOX controls for Tax processes. - Have one direct report within the EMEA Tax team, based in Warsaw Candidate Profile - Undergraduate Degree in Accounting and preferably a CPA or MST, or equivalent. - Minimum 7 years' post-qualification experience, either with a multinational in-house tax team or Big 4, with experience in tax provision or tax compliance and with multinational clients. - Strong US GAAP & tax accounting technical skills. - Specific technical areas required: strong tax compliance background & ability to manage the intricacies of GAAP and Tax accounting and its impact to the financial statement presentations. - Strong technology and data analytical skills and proficient/advanced user of Tax Technology tools (including but not limited to, Excel, Alteryx, One Source & SharePoint). - Excellent team player; can build strong relationships & leverage internal and external alliances and understand organizational interdependencies. - Excellent verbal & written communication skills; will interface with individuals at all levels of the organization both in and out of Tax.
