The Digital Marketing Privacy Operations Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of Diageo's approach to consumer data privacy. This role involves helping Diageo’s business teams unlock data usage in alignment with legal requirements and Diageo values: overseeing the implementation and maintenance of data privacy policies, procedures, and controls; ensuring compliance with applicable data protection laws and regulations; and monitoring and reporting on data privacy risks and incidents.
This role will work closely with the Digital Marketing Data Privacy Legal Counsel, the Digital Marketing Data Steward, the Data Privacy Programme Lead and other members of the Data Privacy team. They will also work with business partners from marketing, digital, and technology teams, to ensure that Diageo's data privacy programme is aligned with key business objectives and meets the expectations of consumers, regulators, and partners. They will be a trusted and valued partner in supporting Diageo's data-driven strategy and innovation.
Capabilities & Responsibilities:
Support the establishment and maintenance of a fit-for-purpose data privacy capability within Diageo:
1. Coordinate and implement data privacy operational activities as they relate to digital marketing; such as data subject rights requests, data breach notifications, data protection impact assessments, vendor risk assessments, and data privacy audits.
2. Monitor and report on data privacy compliance metrics and key performance indicators, identifying and escalating any gaps or risks.
3. Manage and update data privacy documentation, such as data inventories, data flow maps, data retention schedules, consent records, and privacy notices.
4. Collaborate with the Digital Marketing Data Privacy Legal Counsel, Digital Marketing Data Steward and data owners and custodians to ensure data quality, accuracy, and integrity across data Diageo holds.
5. Support the development and implementation of data privacy initiatives and projects that enable Diageo's data-driven strategy and innovation, while ensuring compliance with data privacy laws and regulations.
6. Research and analyse data privacy trends, developments, and best practices in the digital and data space, providing insights and recommendations to the Data Privacy team and business partners.
7. Design and deliver data privacy training and awareness programmes for different audiences and levels, using various methods and channels, to increase data privacy knowledge and skills across Diageo.
The role will also include working to ensure that Diageo has a strong reputation amongst key partners (e.g., employees, customers, consumers and regulators) for being responsible custodians of data.
