About the Role We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Design Engineer to join our Design Team. Your primary responsibility will be to production quality and bespoke designs for specific contracts in collaboration with the Design Manager and our Housing Technical Manager. The key responsibilities for this role will be: Prepare calculations and design of all vessels based on PD5500; EN and ASME codes of practice Make a selection of suitable weld types and preparation details Ensure that designs meet the requirements of the PED (Pressure Equipment Directive) and Pressure Equipment (Safety) regulations Design vessel and components using Creo 3D CAD software Operate the ISO 9001 control and conformance of design department function, issue control and drawing register Interact and communicate with other teams for cost effective and practical vessel design and the improvement of the products Produce innovative and novel new product designs, and to assist in the development of existing products Produce manufacturing drawings for new and existing products and run ongoing product evaluation and development projects Project manage contracts as allocated, and co-ordinate to completion. This involves progress, inspection, testing and check visits to sub-contractor sites Assist in developing the use of existing design tools to reduce costs and improved lead times within the department The Candidate We seek a motivated, adaptable individual who thrives in a busy, hybrid work environment who is willing to spend at least two days a week on-site.
