This is a senior role within a multidisciplinary financial accounting team responsible for providing a professional financial accounting service to a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
You'll be expected to work autonomously and to use initiative, experience, and knowledge to make decisions impacting a number of key areas. This includes:
1. Managing the accounting and governance of the Board's innovation and endowment fund portfolio.
2. Delivering the board's capital accounting function, ensuring the provision of timely and accurate information to support capital planning and reporting.
We are looking for someone who is committed to working in a challenging, rewarding, and enjoyable finance role in the NHS.
Minimum requirements include:
1. A professional accountancy qualification (or imminently completed qualification) and experience in a similar role.
2. Extensive experience in the finance department of a complex organisation.
3. Specialist knowledge of NHS capital / NHS Charities financial and accounting procedures, in particular budget monitoring and control techniques.
4. Problem-solving and change management skills.
