About the Role Managing projects end to end in support of APG's simplification strategy as part of the Group Transformation Office. Initial priority will be to support HR transformation projects, acting as an interface between HR project teams, broader APG transformation and business stakeholders.
Primary Responsibilities
1. To lead a selection of medium sized HR related transformation projects; including HR tooling, HR process change, and the governance of HR elements that form part of broader transformation.
2. Build and manage small to medium cross functional project teams in a matrix environment.
3. Set up projects independently, including objective setting and governance arrangements, using consistent group documentation and processes.
4. Create detailed project plans and roadmaps in collaboration with the project teams.
5. Identify, document & manage project risks, issues and dependencies (both internal and external).
6. Successfully manage project scope, ensuring projects are delivered on time, to the required quality, and on budget.
7. Adjust plans depending on project circumstances whilst still protecting project goals.
8. Create project status reports and communicate confidently to senior stakeholders and the wider business on project health, tailoring updates & styles for stakeholders needs.
9. Resolve competing project demands and conflicts.
10. Support the creation of project business cases.
11. Create and accurately manage project budgets.
Impact and Contributions
12. You’ll directly the support APG in delivering it’s post merger simplification strategy - helping HR function to streamline its tooling and processes.
13. You’ll use your skill and experience to organise a portfolio of HR projects, building the required teams and motivation to delivery them successfully.
14. You’ll use your skill and experience to ensure that HR projects are not executed in a silo and they’re executed in collaboration with the broader business and in continued alignment with the strategic goals of APG.
15. You’ll mentor and guide less experienced members of project teams, and build on the project governance culture within the HR domain.
16. You’ll champion a philosophy of continuous improvement across HR Operations in the context of project delivery.
Experience and Attributes we'd like to see
17. Based in UK, with frequent travel to London office (1 - 2 days a week) and periodic travel to other European locations expected.
18. Excellent and demonstrable project management skills with more considerable experience.
19. Experience in the roll out of business tools and capabilities.
20. Knowledge of HR processes and HR compliance requirements.
21. A high level of motivation, a "can do" attitude and a willingness to be involved at all levels of a project.
22. Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
23. Excellent communication, presentation and team management skills are essential, with emphasis on ‘people over process’.
24. You recognise the values of alignment and collaboration, and you instill this within project teams and across the broader business.
25. Must have strong stakeholder management across a broad set of individuals/teams and are able to influence Senior Management decision making.
26. A strong business acumen and able to apply this to project outputs and outcomes.
Nice to have experience
27. Experience in managing projects as part of a broader strategic portfolio is desirable.
28. Experience in working with Workday.
29. Experience in managing projects through JIRA.
