We are currently working with a Legal 500 ranked firm in Reading that is looking for a talented Construction Lawyer to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven and experienced Construction law professional to join a dynamic and supportive team.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Advising clients on legal issues and taking instructions.
2. Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts.
3. Attending meetings and negotiating with opposing parties.
4. Ensuring governance processes are followed in construction matters.
5. Handling delay claims and construction contract disputes.
6. Monitoring and improving client contracts, processes, and training.
7. Managing a caseload and supporting team members.
8. Identifying improvements to internal processes.
9. Keeping updated on legal, regulatory, and industry changes.
10. Providing legal training to client teams.
11. Recording time, meeting KPIs, and gathering client feedback.
The successful candidate:
* 3 + years PQE in construction law.
* A knowledge and understanding of drafting and negotiation of construction contracts, construction contract disputes & dispute resolution, joint ventures, framework agreements, and governance advice, etc.
* Excellent at building client relationships and explaining legal matters clearly.
* Able to manage a diverse caseload independently while maintaining attention to detail.
* Business-minded with a proactive approach to development and growth.
* Flexible, solution-oriented, and strong at problem-solving.
* Ability to work alone and confidently take ownership of tasks.
* Eagerness to build expertise in new areas of law or technical understanding.
