Within DDaT, the Data Services and Analytics (DSA) team find innovative uses for Home Office data and contains one of the most advanced data analytics centres in Government. We strive to lead the way in appropriate and proportionate use of data and analytics to deliver joined-up, intelligent services that unlock the value from data and improve decision making, policy and operations.
Data Services and Analytics consist of technical and non-technical professionals from a wide variety of backgrounds, we are the hub of data expertise within the department. We support our teams with structured learning, both formal and on-the-job, mentoring and feedback.
This role will be in the Cerberus Programme is a Government Major Projects Portfolio (GMPP) programme with a complex delivery landscape across multiple products and suppliers. This Programme leadership role has responsibility for the technical delivery of outcomes in order for the Home Office and key stakeholder groups to realise the benefits as outlined in the business case.
The programme is fast paced and requires the management of suppliers, product and service teams whilst managing relationships and interdependencies with other key programmes, which includes the Future Border and Immigration System.
Main responsibilities will include:
* Management of a complex environment of real-time risking for people and freight across multiple modes of movement. Cerberus is critical to meet the real-time border risking use cases and enable the replacement and retirement of legacy systems.
* Managing multiple delivery teams to deliver highly complex, technical and risky products within agreed timescales, to cost and quality standards.
* Ownership of senior stakeholder relationships, effectively translating technical concepts, influencing and negotiating when required.
* Leading on managing relationships with commercial partners, working with colleagues in Home Office Commercial when contracts need organising and negotiating.
* Facilitating governance meetings and mechanisms and/or selecting the right people to join these discussions.
* Financial management of the annual budget, which is expected to be more than £30m in the next financial year.
* Some line management responsibilities.
