Job overview
Talking Therapies Havering IAPT is looking for enthusiastic individuals with an interest in developing a career in psychological therapies, specifically in working towards training as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP). This is a fixed term post until May 2025 and would be suitable for candidates with a psychology or social science degree who are committed to preparing for PWP training within our service. In addition to supporting PWP clinical staff in group psycho-education and outreach work, the successful candidate will also be involved in undertaking administrative aspects of the PWP role.
Successful candidates are expected to complete the first year of the role without any breaks.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be expected to work well within a team setting, however, should also be able to deliver an autonomous service as part of the role, operating within recognised professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team’s service policies and procedures.

Starting with NELFT
NELFT places a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment.
High Cost Area Supplement – London
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,551 and a maximum payment of £5,735 per annum pro rata).

Training and Qualifications:
* A psychology or social sciences degree with eligibility for graduate membership of BPS.
Experience:
* Experience in either a paid or voluntary capacity of working with individuals who are experiencing common mental health problems.
* Experience of working in an administrative capacity which involved communication with members of the public.
Knowledge and Skills:
* Knowledge of common mental health problems and their impact on individuals.
* Knowledge of IAPT and the Stepped Care approach.
* Basic awareness of IT and IT skills.
Person specification
Qualification
* NVQ level 2 or equivalent standard of literacy and numeracy.
* A first degree in psychology or a relevant first degree with additional graduate membership of BPS or a relevant core profession (e.g., nursing, social work or occupational therapy).
Experience
* Experience in either a paid or voluntary capacity of working with individuals who are experiencing common mental health problems.
* Experience of working in an administrative capacity which involved communication with members of the public.
* Experience of working within a healthcare setting, either community or in-patient as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Knowledge
* Knowledge of common mental health problems and their impact on individuals.
* Knowledge of IAPT and the Stepped Care approach.
* An awareness of NHS Plan, NSF and clinical governance priorities.
Skills
* Basic awareness of IT and IT skills.
* The ability to communicate clearly and with empathy with a wide variety of clients, fellow professionals, and the general public.
* Presentation and group facilitation skills.
