Development of the Quality Management System
• Conceptualise and implement a Data QMS (Data Quality Management System) framework within SBV.
• Source Data Quality Management Software to maintain clean data within SBV.
• Define, monitor and maintain data integrity as well as improve on data quality.
• Drive data improvement programme within SBV.
• Implement practices that aim at maintaining a high quality of information (Data Governance)
• Manage acquisition of data and the implementation of advanced data processes, to an effective distribution of data.
• Determine and implement the process of testing and modifications.
• Drive the embedment and maintenance of the data quality principles within SBV, monitor the progress and provide remedial action.
• Responsible to provide SME guidance to the organisation in terms of implementing and maintaining the Data Governance Strategy and policies.
• Coordinate mapping of processes, data flows, compilation of policies and procedures and drive review of existing policies for data quality.
• Responsible for the integrity of information within SBV Systems data creation, storage, manipulation and consumption.
• Collaborate with the relevant stakeholders to assist and support with new and existing projects as per the Data requirements.
Monitor, Manage and Remediate Data Quality
• Develop and implement master data strategy/programme to the relevant business units within the company.
• Set Quality Standards, establish and identify data quality tools.
• Facilitate resolution of data issues identified from Enterprise Data Governance Steerco.
• Responsible for data quality monitoring, data issue root cause analysis and remediation.
• Formulate data management dashboards to monitor data maturity.
• Plan and create data quality procedures, standards and specifications in accordance with expected standards of delivery and by following the necessary approval levels.
• Liaise with relevant Stakeholders to establish quality requirements from external suppliers and incorporate in the implementation of the Data Quality Framework.
Quality Framework
• Audit data services provided by suppliers to determine that the quality of data is up to standard before implementing product/service offering.
• Liaise with the IT Manager, data stewards/data consumers and set standards in relation to data quality.
• Understand the flow of data between dependant systems in order to identify and implement data quality control points.
• Liaise with various business units to gather, understand and monitor the functional data requirements and resolve any discrepancies.
• Perform gap analysis on data integrity and apply controls to fulfil identified gaps.
• Benchmark processes to provide assurance that applicable data meets international and national standards.
• Research best practice in terms of quality standard measures, and make recommendations for changes or actions, while adhering to both national and international standards.
Data Quality Tools
• Make use of Data Quality tools to monitor quality of data and exceptions by gathering relevant data and producing statistical reports with recommendations for improvements.
• Make use of relevant quality tools which adhere to SBV policy and educate SBV employees to understand how to improve data integrity.
• Understand customer needs and requirements to develop effective Data Quality Control System.
• Oversee all the acquisition, processing and manipulating of Data storage from Quality standards, inspecting the final output and comparing properties to requirements.
• Solicit feedback from data consumers to assess whether their requirements are met, if not met implement measures to close the identified gaps.
Compliance and Risk Management
• Monitor compliance to the regulatory body requirements across SBV.
• Provide support to internal and external stakeholders regarding adherence to regulatory requirements e.g. Industry (SARB), POPI Act (accuracy of data, Cash Logix sharing of data with 3rd parties.
• Actively drive the importance of adherence to the legislation and regulations, to reduce penalties such as SARB Penalties, ATM SLA Penalties, Service Penalties, etc.
• Review existing BCM plans for data storage, transfer and consumption for one’s allocated divisions and make recommendations regarding any changes to those plans.
Requirements
• Minimum 3 years’ experience working within an information or data governance setting including master data (e.g. data quality, data compliance, governance) with exposure to:
o Data architecture process mapping.
o Quality control procedures and relevant legal standards.
o Drafting, reviewing and vetting of policies and procedures.
o Business intelligence and Reporting tools.
o Software development projects and implementing data quality tools and principles, etc.
• Banking and Cash Industry (Advantageous)
