Participates in the welcoming and reception of patients in the clinical area, supporting theassessment process and liaising with the Advanced Clinical Practitioner and medical teams. Participates in the delivery of care in conjunction with the ACPs and medical teams. Ensuring assistance is provided with patients activities of daily living. Assists in creating an environment which meets the needs of patients, relatives and carers. Has the skills, knowledge and competency to perform the following clinical skills: Vital signs and early warning scores Urinalysis Pregnancy Testing Capillary Blood Glucose Monitoring ECG recording Venepuncture Peripheral IV access Urinary Catheterisation Pressure Area Risk Assessment Ensure adequate skills to maintain/update patients computer records. Evaluate, analyse and act upon those findings that directly relate to the provision of Same Day Emergency Care Ensure the ACP is aware of any conditional changes that may affect patient acuity. Recognise the work load of colleagues and provide support as necessary. Acts as a mentor, preceptor and /or QCF assessor to junior staff.
