Job Description
Global Technology company that specializes in ensuring Software Security is looking for a couple of skilled Senior Software Engineers (C++) to join their Glasgow base on a hybrid basis. Work on a series of world-class products and gain experience with some really interesting development-led security practices.
Their software ensures security with data, communications, payments, and protects content. The company has been operating successfully in Glasgow for just over 20 years and is well-respected in the tech community. They have a global client base and build trusted security software for billions of connected devices.
The ideal candidate will have several years of programming experience with C++ (bonus points if you have exposure to C or Objective-C). This role will mainly involve working on the company's core products; they currently have three that are used worldwide and are highly rated (in fact, many of us use them daily and we don't even know it!).
The project work is genuinely interesting and would provide opportunities to learn some really technical processes. You will gain exposure to interesting processes such as white hat hacking, reverse engineering, and even cryptography - so any previous experience, whether in a commercial environment, within academia, or as a hobby, would be a big bonus.
You'll ideally have experience with most of the following:
1. C/C++
2. Low-level programming
3. Several years of commercial experience within a strong technical environment
4. Relevant Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Maths, or something similar
The following is highly desirable:
1. Understanding of compilers and the build toolchain
2. Experience with Python, Perl, UNIX, or other scripting
3. An interest or experience in security, ethical hacking, reverse engineering, or cryptography
Their office is based in Glasgow city centre, walking distance from both Central Station and Queen Street - like most, they work on a hybrid basis, with a couple of days on-site per week (however, they do have some flexibility on this).
They've got great staff retention - a testament to the good working environment and interesting technical work. In addition to this, they offer a comprehensive benefits package including a bonus, private medical insurance, life assurance, income protection, and contributory pension - this is all on top of a competitive salary (£50k to £70k).
If you're interested in this role, or generally looking for a new opportunity in the Central Belt, please apply and/or call Doug at Cathcart Technology.
