Job overview
We currently have a vacancy within our Obstetric & Gynaecology Outpatients Team here at St Michael's Hospital in Bristol. We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join our team.
It is essential that you possess good communication skills, have experience dealing with the general public, work to deadlines, be a team player, and be able to prioritise your workload. Previous experience in an NHS environment is desirable but not essential.
Main duties of the job
Duties will include the preparation of documentation for patients attending for consultation and treatment, reception duties, booking of appointments, and dealing with telephone queries from patients, other hospitals, clinics, and GP practices.

Qualifications
* Educated to GCSE Level - Passes in Maths & English
Knowledge and Experience
* Previous receptionist experience in a healthcare or public setting
* Previous NHS experience
* Clerical/administration experience including filing and/or reception
Skills and Abilities
* Excellent/professional telephone/reception manner
* Flexible approach to duties
* Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines whilst maintaining a high standard of accuracy
* Good IT skills including Microsoft packages
* Confidence to handle difficult conversations with patients, relatives, and carers
* Ability to work effectively in a busy team, adjust to change, and motivate others
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Clerical/administration experience including filing and/or reception
