We have an exciting opportunity to join us as a Evidential Property Driver within our Evidential Property Department. The role involves providing a delivery and collection service for evidential and forensic exhibits, to and from various stations and policing sites across the force's operational area.

Your main responsibilities will be:
To transport and account for the controlled movement of evidential and forensic exhibits between operational transit stores, hub store locations and the Headquarter central storage facilities. Including but not exclusive to the carriage of firearms, cash and controlled drugs
To transport and account for the controlled movement of uniform and general stores items to and from Headquarter storage facilities and stations within the force area
To load and unload vehicles at delivery and storage locations
Under management direction; plan, amend and update driving routes to meet operational demand
To be responsible for the security and continuity of vehicle loads and contents whilst in transit and ensure that all deliveries are safely secured at point of receipt or despatch
To update records using force IT systems, manifests and associated paperwork
To carry out daily checks, minor maintenance and cleaning of allocated force vehicles in order to maintain their roadworthy condition
To drive all force vehicles in accordance with current legislation and force policy
To provide other stores related duties when required and commensurate with the role
Skills and experience required:
Full UK driving licence including authority to drive vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes
Good verbal and written communication skills
Experience of working within a confidential environment and an understanding of data protection principles
Experience of manual handling techniques and safe working practices for lifting and movement of heavy items
Experience of storing and dealing with valuables / property

Additional Information:
Internally, this position is referred to as a Evidence and Stores Driver. You will be provided with a uniform, which must be worn at all times while on duty.
To be eligible to apply for this role you must have a 3 year ‘checkable history’ in the UK – ideally this means that you would have been resident in the UK for the last 3 years.
