What is the Role?
As a Smart Buildings Business Manager, you will play a critical role in driving our expansion efforts, identifying and fostering new strategic partnerships.
You will lead our Smart Buildings team of engineers and sales people in South West England & Wales.
1. Reporting to the Operations Director, you'll be responsible for the development and execution of the regional business plan, including financial performance and all aspects of operational delivery.
2. You'll lead an engineering team working with you to achieve planned objectives and budgets focused on both business and customer needs.
3. You'll also work with the sales department to grow market share within the retrofit and new build construction market; and you'll be a key member of the Business Management team contributing to company strategy development.
4. With budget responsibility, you'll forge strong relationships which will ensure commercial and financial compliance; confident the business unit objectives you set are clear and engaging at all levels you'll regularly monitor and make improvements to maximise efficiencies.
5. Performance Management reviews will be required with your direct reports to ensure objectives are clearly set, skill gaps identified, and development plans set and reviewed.
What do I need?
To be considered for the role, you will need:
1. Leadership skills are paramount to your success as it's essential that your stakeholders, up to and including the Senior Management team, are fully supportive of your operational objectives, plans, and achievements and that a collaborative approach to meeting business challenges is established.
2. You will bring a strong operational background at a senior management level, with proven experience overseeing the maintenance and strategic management of high-profile buildings. This includes leading engineering teams and supporting project initiatives within the construction industry, ideally with a focus on the BEMS (Building Energy Management Systems) sector.
3. You'll demonstrate a strong commercial acumen and be comfortable presenting findings through accurate forecasting and reporting. You should be an inspiration to others, setting out clear direction, developing innovative plans, and identifying opportunities for improvement.
4. Your passion for the role will mean you have a strong feel for activity in the market place ensuring competitor and market differentiation which will make for informed decision making.
5. As you'll be travelling to different sites it's essential that you hold a full driving licence.
