About the Role
Are you an experienced and motivated individual with a passion for logistics and freight forwarding? If so, we would love to hear from you! We are seeking a skilled Ocean/Air Freight Operator to join our team in Manchester. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and managing ocean and air freight shipments, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Coordinate and manage ocean and air freight shipments, including imports and exports, to ensure timely and efficient collection/delivery.
* Liaise with customers, suppliers, and carriers to arrange shipping schedules, negotiate rates, and handle all necessary documentation.
* Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and maintaining strong relationships with clients.
* Prepare and process shipping and customs documentation in compliance with international shipping regulations.
* Ensure adherence to customs requirements and trade compliance policies.
* Track and monitor shipments, providing regular updates to customers and stakeholders regarding the status of their cargo.
* Be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities, handling unforeseen circumstances effectively.
* Manage multiple shipments simultaneously while ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
What We Need From You
* Experience in ocean and/or air freight operations, including knowledge of import and export procedures.
* Understanding of customs regulations and national/international shipping documentation.
* Strong ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships with customers, suppliers, and colleagues.
* Professional communication skills and ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
* A proactive and results-driven approach with a strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
* Self-motivated with a commitment to operational excellence and continuous improvement.
* Level 2 qualifications in English & Maths.
* Experience with CargoWise and ASM Sequoia systems.
