Job Description Overview We are looking for a Night Engineer to join our team and ensure the smooth operation and maintenance of machinery in a food production facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong dedication to safety and quality standards, as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a diverse team. Pay: £24.52ph Shifts: Monday to Friday Times: 9.45pm until 7am Responsibilities Maintaining machinery to retailer-standard engineering standards to support food and operator safety Scheduling maintenance, servicing, repairs, and inspections of machinery Operating and maintaining service plant including boilers, chilled water, air, and effluent treatment Involvement in new design and upgrades, installation, and movements of existing machines Participating in loss reduction and efficiency improvement activities with production operators Following GMP and enforcing a "clean as you go culture" to ensure hygiene standards are met Conducting risk assessments prior to maintenance work and ensuring implementation of hazard removal Hands-on work in Reactive Maintenance, Preventative Maintenance, Root cause Analysis and ongoing reliability of all processing and packing plant Maximizing up-time of plant Qualifications Recognized engineering accreditation, preferably electrical with optional mechanical qualification (apprenticeship, ONC, City and Guilds, or 17th/18th edition IEE) Experience in a UK retailer or BRCGS accredited food factory preferred Ability to work independently, with skilled operators, and within a wider engineering team Strong communication skills and ability to listen and value the opinions of others Computer literate and capable of accurate record keeping for quality, food safety, and personal safety Day-to-day Collaborating with production operators to ensure machinery efficiency Conducting risk assessments for maintenance work Servicing, repairing, and inspecting machinery Maintaining effective and hygienic functioning of service plant Participating in loss reduction and efficiency improvement activities
