This company is developing automated solutions for delivering advanced therapeutics. This will open up treatment options for currently untreatable conditions, but this complex system combines a host of advanced technologies and still needs to be easily usable by human operators. They are therefore seeking a Usability Engineering Lead to join their team and guide the development of intuitive software interfaces and ergonomic component design.
In this office-based role, you would apply industry best practice and insights from usability research to steer the development team towards creating a system that’s safe and easy to use. To do this you will need to collaborate closely with engineers across a range of technical backgrounds, as well as other stakeholders and external parties to balance competing priorities. You will analyze use-stories, balance engineering trade-offs, establish working processes, and develop specifications and evaluation criteria.
You will need:
* A 1st or 2.1 degree from a leading university, perhaps with a higher degree or PhD. Applicable subject areas could include Product Design, Psychology, UX, Human Factors, or Ergonomics.
* Excellent all-round communications skills, and previous success working with users and other stakeholders to gain insights into product design considerations.
* Experience of product usability engineering and familiarity with relevant regulations and standards, for instance ISO 13485, IEC 62366, and ANSI HE75.
* Full existing right to work in the UK without time limit or sponsorship.
This is a great opportunity to make a major contribution to a high potential healthcare technology. You would be working with a bright and highly motivated team of colleagues from a variety of technical disciplines. The company is based in pleasant offices and labs to the south of Cambridge. A competitive salary and excellent benefits package are on offer to the successful candidate.
Please note that this is office-based and there is no substantial hybrid working option.
