SEN Higher Level Teaching Assistant
NextGen Teachers are working on behalf of a specialist SEN provision who are looking for a compassionate and experienced SEN HLTA to join their dedicated team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is committed to making a real difference in the lives of children with special educational needs. The provision is a nurturing and inclusive school where every child is valued and supported to achieve their full potential. As an SEN HLTA, you will play a key role in supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs, both in class and through targeted interventions. You will also work closely with teaching staff, the SENCO, and external professionals to deliver high-quality support.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver tailored interventions to small groups or individual pupils
Support classroom teachers in adapting resources and strategies for SEN learners
Assist in monitoring progress and contributing to pupil reports and EHCP reviews
Provide pastoral support and help build pupils' confidence and independence
Model and promote inclusive practices across the school
Occasionally lead whole-class lessons under teacher direction, where appropriateWhat We're Looking For:
HLTA status or equivalent experience in a school setting
A strong understanding of a range of special educational needs (e.g., ASD, ADHD, speech and language, SEMH)
A patient, nurturing approach and excellent communication skills
