Job summary
Applications are invited from suitable candidates to provide clinical administrative and clerical services to the Fairfield Nutrition & Dietetics Service.
You must have substantial administrative and secretarial experience including audio typing; a good knowledge of software programs/IT systems such as Excel, Word and Outlook; be able to work on your initiative and within a busy team environment. Experience of NHS systems and processes is desirable.
You will at times be acting as the first point of contact for our service therefore you will require excellent communication and customer care skills. You should also be committed to team working; adaptable to the needs of the service; and have the ability to remain calm under pressure.
Main duties of the job
1. The core job role will be to act as the first point of contact on the telephone or via email for patients, carers and health/social care professionals with queries regarding the nutrition & dietetic team.
2. You will need to be a kind and enthusiastic individual who enjoys a varied workload where no two days are the same.
3. Excellent organisation and time management skills are essential for dealing with a varied and busy workload.
4. As part of the role, you will be arranging clinics for patients and assisting with other administrative duties as required.
5. You will be working with the team to order supplies/equipment and support with any queries from patients or other professionals.

Essential
1. Level 2 IT qualification e.g. NVQ Level 2, RSA Word processing 2 or equivalent.
2. Minimum Level C GSCE English or equivalent.
Desirable
1. ECDL or equivalent certificate in IT

Essential
1. Must be able to demonstrate a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel and Word.
2. Excellent written communication skills

5. Ability to demonstrate organisational skills including time management, prioritisation and to produce accurate work whilst working to tight deadlines.
