Role Description: As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems and components for various engineering projects. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that electrical designs meet both functional and safety requirements, while also adhering to project timelines and budget constraints. At Osbit we encourage all engineers to spend some time installing and commissioning the products they have designed. We find this is a rewarding experience for both the engineer and for the company as a whole. Role Responsibilities: Design, develop, and optimise electrical systems and components for offshore and onshore projects. Prepare detailed electrical schematics, diagrams, and specifications to support engineering designs. Perform calculations and analysis to ensure the feasibility and compliance of electrical systems. Collaborate with mechanical engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to integrate electrical design with other engineering disciplines. Lead and participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and technical audits to ensure high standards of quality and safety. Provide technical support during the manufacturing, testing, and commissioning phases of projects. Stay up-to-date with industry standards, regulations, and best practices to ensure designs are compliant with all relevant codes and guidelines. Troubleshoot and resolve electrical system issues during development and operational phases. Qualifications & Skills: The ideal applicant would have all of the following, but we understand that not everyone has had the same development opportunities, so are more than happy to consider applicants with a selection of them. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience Proven experience in electrical design, preferably in offshore or marine industry. Strong technical knowledge of offshore equipment and systems. Proficiency with electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, EPLAN, or similar). Strong understanding of electrical systems, power distribution, and control systems. Knowledge of industry codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., IEC, ATEX, etc.). Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to tight deadlines. Willingness to learn and embrace new challenges.
