Electrical Design Engineer
Summary
A skilled Electrical Design Engineer is required to work on electrical projects with voltages ranging from Low Voltage (LV) to 132kV. This includes reviewing Contestable Connection Offers from Distribution Network Operators (DNOs) and finalising designs that adhere to applicable DNO regulations, British and IEC standards.
Responsibilities:
* Lead a team of electrical engineers and provide coaching to trainee and graduate electrical engineers.
* Oversee the design management of grid link and private network infrastructure projects from LV to 132kV.
* Work on multiple projects simultaneously, adhering to all stated standards, rules, policies, and procedures to ensure good work delivery.
* Participate in site visits with the construction team as needed to guarantee seamless design delivery.
Deliverables:
* Complete design risk assessments unique to each project.
* Provide regular reports and updates regarding the status of each project's design.
* Participate in customer and DNO meetings as needed.
* Evaluate DNO grid connection offers and project technical reviews.
* Conduct technical evaluations of client technical requirements documents.
* Design private network infrastructure and grid connections from LV to 132kV.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics engineering.
* Experience with AutoCAD.
* Minimum 5 years of experience in contracting or consulting.
* Strong numeracy skills.
* Project management experience.
* Experience working with IDNOs, DNOs, or ICPs.
Estimated Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum depending on experience.
