We are seeking to appoint a Careers Advisor / Apprentice Careers Advisor to provide high quality, impartial careers advice for all pupils; to prepare them effectively for further education, employment or training. The successful candidate will have experience of working with young people or working in an advisory capacity.
This role will be based at Thetford Academy.
Main Responsibilities:
* To provide high quality, independent careers advice for all pupils to prepare them effectively for education, employment or training and to work with the Central Strategic Careers Lead to implement a strategy for developing a careers programme for the school that meets all eight of the Gatsby benchmarks.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with the wider community, particularly businesses, to enhance events and workplace experiences.
* Provide students with valuable insights into local and national labour market trends, ensuring they are well-prepared for future opportunities.
Minimum Requirements:
* Advice and Guidance qualification or English to grade C/4 or equivalent or good English skills (Ideally a Level 4 to 6 Diploma in Advice and Guidance or equivalent, although this is not required).
* Experience of working with young people (Preferably in an advisory/support position).
* Ability to deal effectively with people, using tact, courtesy and patience.
* Good organisational and time management skills.
* Although Level 4 to 6 qualification in Advice and Guidance is desirable, if you do not hold this qualification, you will be expected to complete this training after appointment, possibly through an apprenticeship.
