Aurora Vincent House School
As part of our growth strategy, Aurora is really pleased to be opening a brand new SEND Secondary School in 2025 in the heart of Horsham, West Sussex for young neurodivergent people aged 11-16. Most of our students are coming to us from mainstream education to have access to an adapted National Curriculum delivered in small classes with a focus on meeting their sensory needs and support for their emotional wellbeing.
The Role:
As a Primary trained teacher, you will be delivering an innovative and creative curriculum to support year 7 and 8 students with support from a clinical team. You will be key to identifying strengths and addressing any gaps in learning.
This is an exciting opportunity where you would be integral to developing a unique SEND provision and building a bespoke curriculum with the support of Aurora. We want a dynamic, creative and flexible teacher with leadership potential who can ensure great outcomes for students, collaborating closely with our clinical team and SENDCO.

Skills and Qualifications
Successful candidates are likely to demonstrate:
* Key Stage 2 mainstream or specialist experience
* They have successfully supported neurodivergent students in a teaching role
* Resourcefulness, resilience and a growth mindset
* An ability to plan personalised learning
It is also preferable for candidates to have experience:
* of teaching in a SEND provision
* working collaboratively with a SENCO and therapists
* in pastoral support to students with high anxiety or experiencing mental health difficulties
Candidates must:
* have PGCE, QTS or equivalent teaching qualification and evidence of in-service training
* have a passion to work in SEND and willingness to keep learning
* be outstanding in their pastoral and safeguarding practice
* believe in an integrated therapeutic approach
* be committed to becoming a neuro-informed and neuro-affirmative practitioner
