Physiotherapist, Clinical Education and Practice Development

Are you passionate about supporting, training and developing the new and existing Physiotherapy workforce in North Cumbria? We are looking for a Physiotherapist with expert clinical knowledge and experience to deliver high-quality training, education, and clinical support within a diverse and clinically-led organisation spanning Acute and Community services.
You will be pivotal in the progress of a range of Physiotherapy staff including preceptees, support workers, apprentices and development roles as well as being an expert point of contact on all matters related to career pathways for Physiotherapy staff. You will be part of a growing AHP educator team and this role will be led by the Head of Physiotherapy. You will be supported with dedicated supervision and encouraged to develop your skills and knowledge across the Four Pillars of Practice.
The post requires someone who is motivated, well-organised and has excellent communication skills with the ability to inspire others.
Main duties of the job
1. Act as a clinical role model, working collaboratively to develop and deliver an ongoing programme of training and education for Physiotherapy new recruits and developing support staff across the trust.
2. Be responsible for delivering a comprehensive orientation and induction programme for new recruits within the Physiotherapy department.
3. Be a clinical expert within Physiotherapy and provide hands-on supervision of staff in clinical practice to promote the acquisition of new skills and knowledge.
4. Contribute to the development of departmental policies, guidelines and scope of practice.
5. Undertake audits and reviews of practice and policies within the trust.

Person Specification
Knowledge & Experience
* Significant post-graduate experience working at Agenda for Change Band 6/7 in an area of physiotherapy.
* Delivery of formal informal teaching programmes or supporting training others.
* Experience of supporting newly qualified health care professionals in a clinical setting.
* Contributing to the development of departmental policies/standard operating procedures.
* Mentoring and setting learning objectives.
* Monitoring and setting standards.
* Providing clinical supervision to team members.
* Continuing professional development with portfolio.
* Knowledge of preceptorship framework, risk systems and competency frameworks.
* A sound understanding of current HEE national frameworks to support career development.
* Evidence of developing e-learning programmes or training packages.
* Data collection and audit.
Qualifications
* Professional knowledge acquired through Physiotherapy degree supplemented by further training, short specialist courses, to master's equivalent level.
* HCPC registered.
* Mentorship qualification or completion of practice educator preparation course.
* Teaching certificate or equivalent experience or willingness to work toward.
* Leadership certificate or equivalent.
* Post-graduate study in relevant field.
* Excellent presentation, facilitation and coaching skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Excellent time management and organisational skills.
* Record keeping and report writing.
* Ability to motivate team working.
* Ability to work independently using initiative appropriately.
* Ability to demonstrate the compassionate values and behaviours needed for dignified care.
Other Requirements
* Driving Licence and able to travel across North Cumbria.
* Ability to work flexibly and across sites to meet the demands of the job role including 7 day working, extended hours and bank holidays as required.
