Summary About the Position: This position is located at the Liberty Club, RAF Lakenheath. This position requires shift work to provide coverage on days, evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. Scheduled hours will be 0-40 per week with no minimum guarantee. Must be physically able to frequently lift and carry objects weighing up to 10 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
Responsibilities: The purpose of this position is to perform work involved in preparing the dining room, serving food, wines, and other alcoholic beverages, and subsequent cleaning functions. Specific duties include:
1. Discussing the menu and familiarizing oneself with it prior to opening.
2. Securing clean linen and silverware, depending on the menu and food to be served.
3. Setting assigned tables, spreading clean linen and placing glasses, condiment holders, flowers, candles or lamps, and silverware on the table.
4. Preparing side tables with silverware, bowls of ice, and other extras that may be required during the meal.
5. Receiving guests and taking orders.
6. Working according to the time schedule, securing food from the kitchen, and placing dishes by course in front of each person.
7. Continuing to provide service as needed and requested by guests.
8. Following the completion of the meal, giving the check to the guest and removing soiled dishes, glasses, and silverware.
9. Performing cleaning duties as time permits, such as sweeping and mopping.
10. May perform dishwashing or other functions in an emergency.
11. Performing other related duties as required.

Qualifying Experience: Must have experience or training in proper food handling and serving techniques. Knowledge of food menu items and wine selection for various foods sufficient to explain to customers. Must be able to follow cash handling procedures, make simple mathematical computations, and prepare checks for patrons. Must be able to communicate with customers and possess skill in dealing with the public.
Education: Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution in order to qualify. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education programs.
