The Opportunity

The Role
As a Principal Process Engineer, you will be working in a highly regulated COMAH environment which will support and facilitate future expansion plans and existing site modifications.
This role will provide a market leading salary and benefits package, which will offer a generous 13% annual bonus as well as the inclusion of 27 days’ holiday, with the chance to rise to 32 with every five years’ service.

Your duties and responsibilities will be
Safety and Sustainability
As the Principal Process Engineer, your responsibility will be to uphold high safety standards by:
Meeting legislative and company safety, major accident prevention and environmental requirements. Ensuring safe operating practices are employed, behaviours and ways of working are observed and developed within own team.
Champion and sponsor EHSQ improvements.
Ensure all site technical processes are designed in a way that minimize risk of process hazards and that proper advice on safe running conditions are provided to operations.Process Engineering
You will be responsible for leading the process design of improvement projects on the existing plant.
You will be responsible for the process design of all project phases from concept selection through to detailed engineering and commissioning, this will require development of P&IDs, equipment datasheets, instrument specifications, cause and effects, relief valve calculations etc.
You will be responsible for ensuring that technical and manufacturing projects and improvements are designed and implemented that meet the Company safety standards and meet the business objectives of cost, timescale, and fitness for purpose.
You will ensure that all process engineering deliverables are scheduled and delivered to achieve the required project milestones. In addition, this role will support the Operations Dept. with resources for fault finding complex process problems.
You may also be responsible for leading a team of process engineers. Being responsible for managing the resources of your team to ensure the site objectives and project priorities are met as well as ensuring that all site documentation in their ownership is managed and maintained according to site procedures.
You may also be involved in projects at other locations if required.Here’s how you will impact in this role
Planning, leadership, and implementation of capital projects, including process safety aspects, budgetary control, programme and fit for purpose.
Identify and introduce innovations and equipment which optimise plant operations, usage of materials, output, improve product quality, safety and reduce hazards.
Justify, scope and design manufacturing and capacity improvements, new product requirements and technically accountable for process and plant changes made within these projects and ensuring the required PCA/MOC procedures are followed.
Ensure solutions are found to technical problems affecting output, safety, major accident prevention, environmental, quality and costs targets.
Working with improvement projects on site utilising small teams and larger projects using consulting resources, as appropriate.
Responsible for the initial definition and design of all significant modifications to Capa processes as agreed with the Director of Technology.
Technical support for operations for complex process problems.
Several process engineers may report into this position.You will have the following qualifications & experience
You must have a good degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
Proven/ extensive relevant experience in the chemical / oil industry.
Preferred to have experience in distillation, continuous and batch reaction, high hazard processes and application of process safety standards.
Experience in leading multidiscipline teams on a COMAH site.
Experience in spearheading process safety and implementing safety changes onsite.
There is potential for international travel and networking, however this is not expected to be significant.Get in touch now
