About the role
This is an exciting opportunity for someone to join an established and driven team to monitor the Waste, Recycling and Street Cleansing contract. Key responsibilities include carrying out site inspections across the district relating to all things waste including fly tipping, abandoned vehicles and public conveniences. You will work closely with colleagues across the organisation including Housing and Enforcement to ensure that key targets are met, and will deal with queries from members of the public and our contract partners. In this role you will be able to make an immediate impact and see a visible difference in street cleansing and fly tipping removal. You will also be involved in national data reporting, performance monitoring d ta and joint inspections with the contractor.
About you
The successful candidate will be motivated to make a difference, able to effectively use their own initiative and work well in a team. An ability to multi-task and adapt to change are essential, as are excellent problem-solving skills which will help you address some complex issues raised by residents, other officers, Councillors. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a knowledge of the waste and recycling industry. You will be able to apply these skills and knowledge to help devise and implement improvement processes in the coming year. A good working knowledge of Microsoft office and the ability to integrate datasets are also a requirement of this role.
