Role: Operations Manager role
Location: Based close to Norwich, Norfolk
Working hours: Monday to Friday - Full time hours
Capacity of role: Permanent position
Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum
Our client is a leading manufacturer in their field and they are currently recruiting for an Operations Manager to lead, develop and direct their team.
Main duties will include:
1. Managing projects and processes from start to completion
2. Building strong professional relationships with all staff and customers
3. Leading, attending and participating in staff meetings, developing the team and ensuring all departments are working to a right first time approach
4. Leading all training programs for the team
5. Ensuring the agreed levels of profit are met as discussed inline with management
6. Identifying and establishing customer requirements
7. Preparing fully for pre-contract meetings, agreeing with your line manager and the estimator a clear plan to ensure profit targets are met
8. Seeking permission for extra budgetary expenditure, ensuring that instructions are in place for any additional work prior to commencement with the details and costs recorded on the database
9. Ensuring all sub-contractors are paid accurately and on time
10. Creating an atmosphere of motivation through being upbeat and positive
11. Holding monthly toolbox talks with the team, and addressing any concerns that team members have in a constructive way
12. Working with estimators and the sales team to help win specific clients as agreed with line manager
13. Managing realistic expectations in clients, and exceeding those expectations through excellent customer service
14. Abiding by all statutory requirements including those relating to health and safety
15. Adhering to and promoting all company policies and procedures in place from time to time including those relating to HR and health and safety
Candidate Attributes:
1. Minimum of 5 years in a similar role
2. Previous experience of leading, developing and motivating a team
3. Ability to juggle multiple roles at any given time
4. Effective communication skills at all levels
5. Professional business acumen
6. Strong project management and health and safety experience
