SEN Science Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated Science Teacher to join an Alternative provision in Maidstone.This role is ideal for a secondary science teacher with a passion for supporting vulnerable young people, whether transitioning from a mainstream environment or already experienced in PRU/SEMH/SEN settings.
Day to day of the role:
* Deliver engaging science lessons to secondary students within a PRU/SEMH/Alternative Provision setting.
* Adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students and create an inclusive learning environment.
* Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to provide holistic support to students.
* Develop and implement individual education plans for students with special educational needs.
* Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and interventions as necessary.
* Maintain a safe, respectful, and nurturing classroom atmosphere.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is desirable but not essential.
* Experience as a secondary science teacher.
* Ideally, experience in a PRU/SEMH/SEN environment.
* Ability to remain calm and compassionate while setting firm boundaries.
* Trustworthy, reliable, and motivated to make a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable young people.
