Summary of the role
The University of Exeter is seeking an Impact and Partnership Development Manager (IPDM) to build external collaborations between our Business School and industry, government and the third sector. The IPDM will provide support to the Economics and Finance & Accounting departments focussing on the themes of Sustainable Finance, Transition Economics and ESG (Environmental, social and governance), where the Business School has world-renowned expertise. This expertise is in increasing demand as partners from across the public and private sectors seek ways to ensure their own operations can deliver a better world.
The IPDM will match our exciting range of academic, research and education offers to the needs of regional, national and international organisations. They will be responsible for developing research, consultancy, knowledge exchange and professional education activities for the Business School, working with researchers across disciplines and identifying opportunities to deliver greater value to our partners. They will proactively identify new opportunities for impact across the Faculty and the University, working closely with our academic staff and our Green Futures Solutions initiative.
The post sits within Exeter Innovation (EI), the professional services team that supports and drives this critical work. The key aim of EI is to secure significantly greater value and impact from relationships with partners drawing on the University’s education, research and physical assets.
The successful candidate will have a well-established external network, an understanding of the Financial sector and a track record of collaboration and relationship building. They will be experienced in business development and income generation, demonstrating extensive problem solving, negotiation and management experience, ideally in a Higher Education context. They will be able to provide great customer service to a wide range of internal and external corporate clients, as well as having the ability and motivation to see tasks through from ideation to completion.
