We are seeking a dynamic, pro-active and experienced Marketing and Social Media Manager to join our client, a successful fast-paced SME at their site in Woolpit, near Bury St Edmunds. This is a permanent, employed position working 40 hours per week from 8:30am – 5:00pm Monday to Friday with 30 minutes each day for lunch.

Our client is a privately-owned, well-established commercial business operating in the fast-paced construction industry. They have a workforce of around 150 employees spread across a handful of sites in the UK and are continuing to grow. They have a friendly, professional culture and are a supportive employer who treat everyone equally.
The Job
This newly created role involves managing the full Marketing function of the business. With no direct reports at present, it is a hands-on, varied and busy role which will likely grow into a people-management role as well, as the company continues to expand.
This role will involve planning, executing, and monitoring the company’s marketing strategies across various channels to increase online presence and drive customer engagement. You’ll manage social media, content creation, development and delivery of campaigns, brand management and overall strategy.
Responsibilities will include:
Develop and implement a social media strategy to align with business goals.
Create, curate, and manage content (text, image, video) for various platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, TikTok).
Monitor and respond to audience engagement, comments, and messages.
Analyse and report social media performance metrics (reach, engagement, growth, etc.) using tools such as Google Analytics, Hootsuite, or Buffer.
Stay updated on trends, algorithm changes, and best practices across all social platforms.
Collaborate with the design and content teams to create appealing and engaging marketing materials.
Write and optimize content for the website, blogs, email campaigns, and other digital media.
Ensure consistency of brand messaging across all marketing materials.
Manage relationships with influencers, partners, and external content creators.
Plan, execute, and manage digital marketing campaigns across various channels, including social media, email, and paid ads.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure cohesive marketing strategies.
Track and report on the performance of marketing campaigns, ensuring KPIs are met.
Analyse data to inform future campaigns and optimize marketing activities.
Ensure that all marketing efforts align with the brand’s tone, style, and values.
Monitor brand mentions, online reviews, and feedback, responding appropriately to maintain a positive reputation.
Assist in the development of the overall marketing strategy to increase brand awareness and lead generation.
Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify new marketing opportunities.
Collaborate with sales teams to develop targeted marketing approaches to attract potential customers.
Take the lead for organising events & exhibitions, including attending to promote the company (UK-based, a handful each year currently)
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of marketing strategies and social media platforms, along with experience in content creation, campaign management, and brand awareness. Other requirements include:
Formal qualification(s) in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Marketing Manager, Social Media Manager, or similar role.
In-depth knowledge of social media platforms, marketing tools, and analytics (e.g., Google Analytics, Facebook Insights, etc.).
Strong writing, editing, and communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Creative thinker with a passion for marketing and content creation.
Experience with paid advertising (e.g., Google Ads, Facebook Ads)
Proficiency in design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva) is a bonus.
Able to work independently
Understanding of commercial sales within a SME
Excellent, clear, professional and friendly open communication style

There is also a good benefits package available. Holiday allowance is statutory entitlement of 28 days inclusive of bank holidays, but increases with service up to an additional 5 days over 10 years.
