About the role We’re excited to share the opportunity for a DevOps Engineer to join our Technology team. We’re looking for someone with the desire to work across a range of disciplines within product delivery, working collaboratively with other developers, testers and analysts to craft and improve our award-winning financial reporting and analysis products. In this role you will work with multiple technologies across the stack and delivery lifecycle. You’ll likely have an aptitude for, and interest in writing code, with a solid grasp of language fundamentals, data structures and algorithms in one or more programming languages. As a DevOps Engineer, we don’t expect you to already have a long list of technical skills. We’re looking for someone with some knowledge of and interest in the latest DevOps tooling and practices. You’ll spend your time: Here at Nucleus, you’ll find every day will be varied as this role evolves over time. A snapshot of activities you’ll be able to get involved in will include: Participating in our sprint stand ups and contributing to our team retrospectives Working closely and collaborating with our cross functional development team Demonstrating your work at fortnightly sprint demos Getting involved in our peer review process, providing and receiving constructive feedback on code Writing infrastructure as code for cloud-hosted apps with an eye towards maintainability Deployment in the cloud Designing and implementing infrastructure support services including monitoring and logging Responsible for high-availability across the platform Designing and implementing continuous integration pipelines Scripting skills in a language such as Bash Take responsibility in everything you do to deliver good outcomes for our customers A bit about you We've always placed more importance on cultural alignment above technical ability but in this role we'd really like you to have: Understanding of networking concepts Knowledge of and exposure to cloud technologies (AWS) Knowledge of and exposure to containerisation technologies (docker) Knowledge of agile software development tools and methodologies such as continuous integrations, git, Jira, Jenkins Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills A little about us We are the Nucleus Group Services Limited and we help make retirement more rewarding.
