We are currently working with an education provider in the beautiful Lake District area who are looking for a Mechanical Engineering Trainer/Lecturer to join their team on a permanent, full-time basis. The position would consist of 37 hours of work per week, and would involve delivering workshop-based training on milling and turning, and also some basic Mechanical Engineering theory and health & safety delivery in the classroom. Delivery would be on the City & Guilds Engineering Technician qualification at level 2/3.
The starting salary would be up to a maximum of £39,447 per annum (depending on qualifications and experience), and you would also get a teacher's pension (with employer contributions of 28.68%) in addition to a generous holiday allocation of 55 days. Relocators would be considered, and there would also be a discretionary relocation package of up to £2,500 to cover property deposit, moving costs, etc.
Minimum Requirements:
1. A level 3 Mechanical Engineering qualification
2. Good hands-on machining knowledge/experience
3. A passion for passing on your knowledge
While the education provider is ideally looking for someone who has a teaching qualification, they would be more than happy to fully fund the right candidate through a teaching qualification on the job if they don't already have one.
