An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Contracts Manager to join our client in Stoke on Trent. The company is a joinery manufacturer and interior fit out contractor, working on projects in the commercial, leisure, retail, and hospitality sectors. They have an excellent reputation for the quality manufacture and installation of fire doors, reception desks, counters, and full commercial and retail fit outs across the UK.
We are looking for a Contracts Manager with experience in running interiors fit out and joinery installation projects of various sizes. You must have excellent organisational and communication skills, be able to manage a varied workload, and work well in a fast-paced and reactive environment. This is a key position in the business and requires an organised and proactive approach. You will need to work unsupervised and be effective in managing your own time and workloads. Travel and flexibility will be required as projects can be nationwide with an emphasis on the Midlands and London.
You will oversee the planning, coordination, and control of all projects assigned to you from inception to the completion of all snagging. You will control project timescales, costs, and progress, keeping the Senior Management Team informed of these.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
1. Monitor appropriate labour and site management specific to the project.
2. Attend and contribute to client and project meetings.
3. Collate, manage, and sign off snagging works completed by the project support team.
4. Responsible for site health and safety from pre-contract stage through to project completion.
5. Promote commercial awareness for on-site projects.
6. Liaise with the supply chain team to ensure compliance and effective site set up.
7. Ensure quality of workmanship in line with company expectations.
8. Deliver projects to the agreed program of works.
9. Monitor program of works and identify shortfalls and solutions.
Required Skills and Experience:
1. Excellent time keeping and ability to manage own workload and work to deadlines.
2. A passion for delivering a professional service and quality product.
3. Ideal candidate will be friendly, proactive, have good organisational skills, and have a high attention to detail.
4. Must have good IT skills - Microsoft skills including Excel and Project.
5. Experience of working on interior fit out projects.
6. A joinery background would be an advantage.
7. CSCS Card, SMSTS, and First Aid.
