The Role As a tutor you will be required to deliver tuition sessions to help these students gain the confidence and level required to attain the qualifications needed and potentially return to further education. Unlike other agencies, 1st Staff also provide a support network for all of our tutors such as a lead tutor for your specific area, designated safeguarding leads, curriculum leads for Maths and English, Behavioural specialist and a Head of education. This role will involve providing Maths, English, or Science tuition to young people with Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND), Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH), Moderate and Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD / SLD), or other Additional Educational Needs referred to 1st Staff. These young people are referred to us by local authorities and schools and will require levels of support in their educational and social-emotional journey. Position Details Tuition can either take place in either Schools, Local communities or in Students homes Hours - 10-15 hours per week (sessions will be split 2-3 hours per day, 5 days a week) more hours available if working with multiple students. Start Date-ASAP Skills & Experience Required: Confidence working with a range of SEN/SEMH and challenging behaviour Being able to cater lesson plans to the child's individual's needs Demonstrating a nurturing and supportive nature with good behaviour management skills.
