As a General Science Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. You will provide students with a strong foundation in scientific principles, help them develop practical and analytical skills, and inspire them to pursue further studies in science. You will work alongside a team of passionate science educators to create an interactive and student-centered approach to learning.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality science lessons in line with the national curriculum for Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
2. Foster a love for science by using a variety of teaching methods, including experiments, demonstrations, and interactive activities.
3. Create an inclusive, safe, and stimulating classroom environment where all students feel valued and motivated to succeed.
4. Assess and monitor student progress through regular feedback, assignments, and assessments.
5. Differentiating lessons to meet the diverse learning needs of students and support their individual growth.
6. Collaborate with other science teachers to develop and enhance the science curriculum.
7. Participate in departmental meetings, school events, and professional development activities.
8. Communicate regularly with parents to provide updates on student progress and address any concerns.
9. Contribute to extracurricular activities, such as science clubs or revision sessions, to enhance student engagement with science beyond the classroom.
About You:
We are looking for a teacher who is:
1. Qualified: A relevant teaching qualification (QTS) and a degree in Science or a related field.
2. Experienced: Previous experience teaching Science at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 is desirable but not essential.
3. Passionate: A genuine enthusiasm for science and a desire to share your knowledge with students.
4. Creative: Able to use innovative teaching methods to make science exciting and accessible.
5. Organized: Able to effectively manage lessons, assessments, and student progress.
6. Collaborative: A team player who is willing to contribute ideas and work closely with colleagues in the department.
7. Student-Focused: Committed to supporting every student in their scientific development and ensuring they reach their full potential.
