Job overview
To assist in the provision and promotion of high-quality library and knowledge services for all Trust staff and students on placement at South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. They will be the first point of contact for the library service, providing a comprehensive range of issue desk duties, giving assistance to users to find the information resources. They need to answer a range of enquiries referring more complex enquiries to other library staff as appropriate. Based at James Cook University Hospital but working across site at the Friarage Hospital library providing administrative and customer support. The post is to be a progressive post that will commence as a band 3 and will encompass completing the Library, Archives & Information Assistant Level 3 Apprenticeship, this will be delivered by an external training provider. Upon successful completion of the Library, Archives & Information Assistant Level 3 Apprenticeship, progression to band 4 to undertake successful completion of the BSc Information and Library Studies Degree. Ability to travel to multiple sites.
Main duties of the job

They will be the first point of contact for the library service, providing a comprehensive range of issue desk duties, giving assistance to users to find the information resources. They need to answer a range of enquiries referring more complex enquiries to other library staff as appropriate. Reporting to, and working with, the Library Operational Lead to fulfill the day to day administrative tasks in the library. Working with postgraduate, undergraduate departments, and professional groups to meet the library service administrative needs for staff and students.
