The COHMT commercial team has recently changed its operating model. It is now organised into spend category teams, supplemented by business partners and embedded commercial teams in specialist areas and programmes. The Directorate is supported by a central team, Commercial Strategy and Performance, which is responsible for the overall strategy, performance, and enabling functions and this role forms part of that team.
We are looking for a Commercial Performance and Systems Lead to join our team, who will play a critical role in developing and delivering our commercial performance and systems to enable our commercial team to leverage data to drive commercial performance. This will include using a wide range of existing programmes, including Excel and Atamis, as well as bringing systems and data expertise to deliver our improvement roadmap and transform our utilisation of data and systems to deliver a better commercial service to our customers. This role requires an individual who is able to balance multiple priorities and improvement projects alongside assurance of BAU operational stability, reporting and ad-hoc projects as they emerge. This role will have line management responsibility for a Senior Data Analyst and Systems Manager.
* Support the development of the commercial functional strategy for the Directorate.
* Oversee the design, implementation and integration of commercial systems, including but not limited to, Atamis
* Ensure systems are optimised for performance and align with the Directorate strategy
* Leading Commercial Performance and Assurance initiatives to deliver improvements, including identifying opportunities for innovation and bringing in your experience in this area
* Lead on the design and delivery of the data and systems strategy and roadmap, contributing and influencing the overall commercial functional strategy to drive performance and improve user experience
* Use enhanced stakeholder management and engagement skills to leverage available datasets and systems to optimise opportunities to drive our commercial performance and systems roadmap
* Lead on the Contract Management of Atamis as our critical commercial system
* Overseeing the commercial systems design, development, and implementation (ATAMIS) to enable commercial delivery across the departments, ensuring process efficiency, robust controls and effective decision-making.
* Support delivery of reliable systems infrastructure and effective data management in support of the full commercial lifecycle.
* Drive the improvements of data quality and management information usage across the Directorate.
* Oversee the development and, where applicable, lead the implementation of the data roadmap to drive data integrity and adherence to Data Governance standards
* Lead on specific projects defined by the Head of Strategy & Performance. These could cover contract management, governance, and category management.
* Engage with stakeholders to capture new business requirements and evaluate the system's performance, risks, and opportunities.
* Enable reporting and insights to inform commercial/category strategies and support robust decision-making. Measure and report Directorate performance, fulfilling reporting needs into Corporate Services and the GCF.
* Oversee the production of the Directorate performance analysis (Scorecards, Dashboards and Reports)
* Support establishing and operating applicable centres of excellence for improved functional performance.
* Develop and deliver systems data training and/or guidance to build the directorate's and users' capabilities and skills.
* Responsible for delivering projects to improve outcomes and value for money and make commercial practices, processes and policies more effective.
* Provide outstanding leadership, enabling effective delivery and supporting professional and personal development. Contribute to creating a great workplace, championing diversity and inclusive ways of working.
This role will be responsible for ensuring commercial systems, data, and insights are used to drive performance improvement and support effective commercial strategies and decision-making.
The role will also lead on specific ‘centres of excellence’ projects defined by the Head of Strategy & Performance. These could cover contract management, governance, and category management.
In this role, you will be required to act on your own initiative, lead and drive projects and services, and engage and influence key stakeholders within your areas of responsibility.
You will be expected to maintain solid relationships and provide advice and guidance on commercial best practice across the Commercial Directorate and wider department.
