This includes; - Premises licensing - Animal licensing - Taxi licensing - Event licensing - Gaming and gambling licensing - Skin piercing licensing - Pavement licensing - Street trading - Charity collections - Scrap metal licensing About the role… As a Licensing Officer, your responsibilities will include conducting statutory consultations, managing and attending committees and hearings. You'll also collaborate with external partners such as the Police and County Council, to undertake investigations and enforcement actions, including serving notices and giving evidence in court when necessary. This is a critical position where your expertise and ability to manage various licensing processes will directly impact our community. You will need experience in all matters of licensing legislation and a full working knowledge of the Licensing Act 2003. Responsibilities Deal with complex service requests, which may require detailed knowledge of a specific functional area across the organisation. Manage and resolve a range of case work or investigations to conclusion using detailed knowledge of the subject area and work within relevant legislation, prescribed policy, procedures and guidelines. Maintain an understanding of appropriate legislation, policy, procedure, business requirements and guidelines. Ensure all relevant customer and company information is captured and recorded accurately. Planning and prioritising workloads in order to meet agreed short term objectives. Carry out duties with discretion, integrity and maintain confidentiality. Understand and demonstrate commitment in delivering the key performance indicators within the function. You will need… A minimum qualification equivalent to NVQ level 3 or A level, and three years relevant experience. Preferably an animal qualification level 3 for inspection of licensable activities involving animals. Ability to build customer relationships. Knowledge and experience in assessing complex situations and carrying out inspections. Ability to manage time effectively.
