Clerical Officer/Typist - Gastroenterology

You will work within a busy secretarial team based on West Block Level 4 in the NNUH.

Main duties of the job
To provide typing duties to the Trust. To work under the supervision of senior secretarial staff and the Administration Manager.

Job responsibilities
* Type patient letters relating to clinics in accurate and timely manner and be able to prioritise workload with the support from the Medical Secretaries/Admin manager
* Locate, request and track hospital notes to the department and Health Records Library and file results and correspondence appropriately.
* Communicate electronically with secretaries regarding actions to be outcomed from typing to ensure 18 week targets are met.
* Update RTT in accordance with Trust guidelines. Assist the Administration and Clerical team with data management utilising PAS and other departmental patient databases.
* Work in line with department guidelines and policies, and offer suggestions for improvements to procedures/policies to support the continual development of the service.
* Maintain Administration Procedures for departmental practices, to ensure colleagues can cover workload in absence and offer suggestion at regular team meeting for improvements in working practices.
