Job summary
We are looking to recruit an experienced midwife to join our Trust as the Lead for Clinical Effectiveness at Ipswich Hospital.
You will maintain oversight of the development of guideline and will work alongside the Clinical Governance Lead, Consultant Midwife, Practice Development Midwife, obstetric colleagues and other lead midwifery post holders.
You will take a leading role in the oversight of auditing practice, analysis of results and preparing reports.
This is permanent, full time post for hours per week.

Main duties of the job
1. Involved with maternity risk management by investigating incidents reported through the Datix incident system, using lessons learned to improve practice and processes.
2. Support and direct staff across the Trust in the identification and collation of evidence to support assessment of the standards within the maternity services, including Nice Guidance and CQC standards.
3. Provide clinical leadership to staff working in the Women's Clinical Delivery Group.
4. Actively seek out and introduce new ideas relating to practice across the multidisciplinary team ensuring guidelines reflect best practice and are evidence based.
5. In conjunction with other members of the multidisciplinary team, develop, review, disseminate and communicate new and revised standards, policies and guidelines.
6. Assist with gap analysis of new national guidance including NICE and implementation of new guidance which is compliant with standards.
7. Facilitate updating and information sharing sessions with maternity staff and produce a regular Clinical Update newsletter for staff.
