Our client is an international logistics company, specialised in international, 3rd-party and freight forwarding business; they are currently looking to appoint an experienced Customs Specialist to help upskill the team with the purpose being to develop and expand business within their Chelmsford branch.
As Customs Specialist, your typical day will involve teaching colleagues how to handle niche clearances; you'll be loading jobs in Multifreight and preparing CDS entries, on your own and assisting the team with entries, and handling post-clearance documentation.
Customs Specialist duties include:
* Loading jobs in Multifreight when required
* Preparing CDS entries
* Ongoing learning and teaching of Customs Regimes/Commodity Codes/CPC Codes
* Handling Post-Clearance documents
* Assist in preparing for audits by HMRC
We're keen to speak to people with solid freight forwarding and customs expertise for specialist entries such as foodstuffs and dangerous goods, who have teaching capability to enhance the team's abilities in terms of customs and post-clearance.
Experience with Far-East imports would be a distinct advantage, as would experience with exports to EU, USA and Far-East, although these are not essential.
This is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday, so no weekends required!
In return, the successful Customs Specialist will be offered a salary up to £34,000 (in line with experience and skills) + bonus and benefits which include subsidised lunch and travel.
