Renfrewshire Community Health and Social Care Partnership is looking to recruit a Rehabilitation Officer (Qualified) to join Social Work's Sensory Impairment Services, which provides an all-age service across Renfrewshire, within the Adult Services and locality structure.
The Sensory Impairment Team is a small specialist team offering a quality rehabilitation and support service to adults with sensory loss and a habilitation service to blind and visually impaired children and young people. The team also offers communication support to individuals who are British Sign Language (BSL) users.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide rehabilitation and support services to individuals with sensory loss.
2. Design and implement training and support plans to assist blind and visually impaired individuals in maximizing their independence.
3. Supervise, motivate, and organize various groups of all ages.
4. Demonstrate equipment and teach relevant skills to clients.
5. Conduct assessments and prioritize workload effectively.
Qualifications:
1. Graduate Diploma in Rehabilitation Studies or equivalent (essential).
2. Higher Diploma in Rehabilitation Studies or Advanced Certificate in Education (working with visually impaired children) or equivalent (desirable).
You will have experience working in a Social Work team and with people with sensory loss. It is essential to possess effective interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. You should be motivated, friendly, and approachable, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge of the DWP benefits system and the range of services provided by the third sector to those with sensory loss is desirable. Proficiency in IT packages, a current full driving license, and the use of your own transport are also desirable.
