We are seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team and support the Finance Manager with a variety of tasks. This role is critical in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring smooth financial operations, and providing essential support for budgeting and financial planning. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of bookkeeping principles, experience with accounts payable/receivable, and familiarity with charity-specific accounting regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Processing supplier invoices (via Dext and QuickBooks) and reconciling supplier statements.
2. Raising sales invoices in accordance with the Sales Order master sheet.
3. Reconciling bank accounts (volunteer and petty cash accounts).
4. Supporting the Head of Programming to ensure timely processes around ticket sales reports and payments to companies.
5. Supporting the development and delivery of the organisation's Arts Training Scheme.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Proven experience in bookkeeping and accounting, particularly with accounts payable and receivable.
2. Proficiency with accounting software, particularly QuickBooks and Dext.
3. Solid understanding of Microsoft Excel including advanced features and data analysis.
4. Attained a financial qualification, or working towards one, e.g. AAT level 2.
5. Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with colleagues, customers, and suppliers.
6. Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate financial records.
7. Familiarity with charity-specific accounting regulations and experience in the non-profit sector is an advantage.
8. Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
9. Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.
10. A willingness to undertake appropriate training.
11. Energy and enthusiasm to be part of a small team.
