Hours of Work: average of 48 hours per week
The Role:
In this role, you will report directly to the Transport Manager and will be responsible for always facilitating a first-class level of customer service to all internal and external customers.
You will have accountability for maintaining professional relationships, supporting the Transport division by delivering products to customers across the UK in a timely and efficient manner.
You will also be required to load vehicles when necessary and assist in unloading our products at customer’s premises.
To work as part of a team and be a last point of contact for customers, providing our products ‘On Time In Full’ (OTIF).
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
1. To ensure the security of the Company vehicle you are in charge of at all times.
2. To operate within the law at all times and to raise any vehicle maintenance concerns immediately with your line manager.
3. Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety and Company policy and procedures and to report any accidents or near misses to your line manager immediately.
4. Drive in accordance with the law and drive in a safe and courteous manner at all times.
5. Be prepared to drive long distances with regular overnight stays.
6. Be prepared to drive a range of vehicles and be flexible within the parameters of your role, including training and development in accordance with the needs of the business.
7. To have the ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding and changing environment.
8. This role requires lifting and pushing weights over 25kg.
9. A combination of analogue and digital tachographs are used and drivers must be fully acquainted with the relevant legislation as set out in Senior Traffic Commissioners Statutory Document No.6 Vocational Drivers Section 45 Conduct and Fitness.
10. To have a good knowledge of the Road Transport Directive (RTD) for the purpose of working time.
11. Be able to demonstrate compliance by evidence of a low infringement record.

Experience and Skills:
1. A good standard of literacy and numeracy to fulfil the role.
2. C Driving licence HGV Class 2, DQC, Driver card.
3. Geographical knowledge of the UK.
4. Previous experience working within a manufacturing environment.
