A Big 5 Tech company is currently looking for a Policy Communications Manager to join their team in London office (Hybrid - 3 days onsite) on a 12-month contract ideally starting in January!
Top 3 must-have hard skills:
1. Experience in crisis and issue management
2. 8 years relevant experience at a minimum
3. Corporate policy issues for a consumer facing brand
4. Understanding of the political media environment outside of the UK.
Good to have skills:
1. Additional languages are a benefit
2. Can work in a fast-paced environment
Typical Day in the Role:
Large chunk of the work will prepare for announcements and compliance reports in EMEA around content regulation. Responsibilities include:
1. Preparing Q&As, key XFNs have signed off on responses
2. Working with global communication and liaising with local
3. Media enquiries in France and Spain and answering questions on certain products on the platform
4. Communicating to policy audiences - MPs etc.
5. Engaging with academics, think tanks through media
6. Speaking to influencers through media channels
7. Executing a number of campaigns such as demonstrating commitment to youth safety, AI
8. Aiming to create a positive operational environment in EMEA
9. Managing reactive press and proactive communications to mitigate future risk and certain narratives
